Sukabumi, 23 September 2020 - PT. AQUA Golden Mississippi factory in Mekarsari that was impacted by the flash flood on Monday night (21/9) is now back in operation after undergoing a recovery process that encompassed factory clean-up, sanitation, and a comprehensive production system check-up. Gradually, the production process has gone back in operation to increase the product supplies that were affected by flood water entering some of the production areas.

“We are currently in the process of fully recovering our production facilities in Mekarsari Factory, Sukabumi. Nevertheless, our main focus is still on the safety and security of our employees and the surrounding communities that were affected by the flash flood. We will continue cooperating with the local authorities to assist the impacted local communities,” says Arif Mujahidin Corporate Communications Director Danone Indonesia.

Arif also adds, “During the recovery process, AQUA consumers need not worry about the availability and quality of products as the company has diverted product supplies from the impacted production facility to other AQUA factories in Sukabumi and Bogor. On the other hand, products that are affected by the flood are isolated and rejected for later destruction.”

The company abides by strict safety standards and quality protocol throughout all aspects of the production chain in compliance with food safety standards set by BPOM, SNI, alongside Danone’s quality parameter. The manufacturing process also refers to the ISO 9001 International Quality Standard. Furthermore, all AQUA production facilities are certified by the International Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000 international food safety assurance system.

Aside from facility recovery, the company also takes part to assist the surrounding communities that were impacted by the flash flood by coordinating with local authorities and community groups to distribute boxes of AQUA 600ml, groceries, and other basic necessities. “We have also deployed a number of volunteers to take part in cleaning up the Cibaregbeg river area and cooperate with the Regional Disaster Management Agency for flood mitigation by stepping up conservation efforts and responsible waste management,” explains Arif.
