Jakarta, November 15, 2019 - AQUA as a pioneer of Bottled Drinking Water (AMDK) in Indonesia since 1973, was again awarded the "Halal Award - Halal Top Brand 2019" in the category of Bottled Drinking Water by the Institute for Food, Drug and Cosmetic Research Indonesian Ulema Council (LPPOM MUI) and the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. This award was given directly by the Director of LPPOM MUI, Dr. Lukmanul Hakim, M.Si to Danone Indonesia's Regulatory Affairs Director, Prima Sehanputri at the Indonesia Halal Expo (INDHEX) event on November 15, 2019 which took place at the JCC Assembly Hall in Senayan, Jakarta.

Every year, LPPOM MUI gives Halal Award to various stakeholders who have taken part in the growth and improvement of the halal industry in Indonesia. In addition, the Halal Award is also expected to increase the participation of halal industry players in Indonesia to play an active role in conducting socialization, promotion, information and education about halal. This year, the Halal Award was given to the best halal brands, the best halal advertisements, the best newcomer products and the best halal SMEs. For the Halal Top Brand category received by AQUA this year, the assessment is based on a survey related to the halal status of a brand to nearly 22,000 respondents as well as the intensity of halal socialization conducted in various media before, both with LPPOM MUI and independently.

Prima Sehanputri said that the halal guarantee for AQUA consumers is very important to maintain quality. According to him, AQUA always maintains halal products in accordance with halal quality standards, safety and the environment starting from raw materials, production, shipping and up to the hands of consumers. In addition, Prima also added that it is important for the Industry to have a product brand that can educate consumers about halal products "We always support the campaign about halal conducted by LPPOM MUI." This year is the third time that AQUA has received an award from MUI after previously being obtained in 2016 and 2018. In addition, the Isotonic Mizone beverage brand also received a similar award in the Isotonic beverage category in 2015. In addition to halal certification, AQUA also conducts supervision of compliance with standards quality in accordance with food safety standards and SNI. In this regard, AQUA has met the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and FSSC 22000 standards.
